At BU Dental, we strongly believe in oral-systemic link and that the health of your mouth affects health of rest of your body. We provide bacterial testing on-site with microscope analysis as well as testing for most harmful bacteria that have links to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, alzheimer's, etc. On top of traditional hygiene with hand instruments and cavitron, we provide air polishing and laser therapy for more comprehensive hygiene and follow up with a thorough homecare regiment including use of tongue cleaners and use of prebiotics to promote growth of healthy bacteria while suppressing growth of harmful bacteria. We also limit usage of harmful chemicals and render treatment using ozonated water. We also offer oral conscious sedation and nitrous sedation as additional services for patients that are apprehensive about dental treatment.

Dr. Ann-Catherine Bautista, DMD

Dr. Ann-Catherine Bautista, DMD, is a compassionate dentist dedicated to providing gentle dental care to her Bay Area community. Inspired by her early experiences at a nonprofit organization during college, she developed a profound admiration for dentistry. Dr. Bautista earned her doctorate from Rutgers University, where she further cultivated her passion.

Driven by a commitment to serving underserved communities, she founded Altruistic Dental Smiles, a nonprofit organization focused on providing dental care to those in need, including individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, Dr. Bautista serves as a General Dentist for the Regional Center of the East Bay and shares her expertise as a faculty member at Diablo Valley College's Dental Hygiene program.

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Bautista to the Geriatric House Call Dentistry network! Portable dentistry services include: preventive care, periodontal therapy, restorative procedures and extractions using oral conscious sedation chairside or general anesthesia in a hospital setting if necessary. Geriatric House Call Dentistry is proud to serve the growing community of elderly patients who are in need of dental work but cannot leave their home.

Dr. Serah Uddaraju, DMD

Welcome to BU Dental, where Dr. Serah Uddaraju brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to general dentistry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally hailing from New York, Dr. Uddaraju completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology before pursuing a Master's in Biomedical Sciences and dental training at Rutgers University.

Dedicated to providing exceptional care, Dr. Uddaraju furthered his expertise through a rigorous two-year residency at Montefiore Hospital, specializing in treating complex cases. His commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in dentistry is evidenced by his completion of over 500 hours of continuing education. Soon to be accredited as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), Dr. Uddaraju is at the forefront of dental innovation.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Uddaraju finds joy in spending quality time with his family and beloved dog, as well as exploring the vibrant offerings of the Bay Area.
